Born in the 1940s surrounded by the foreshores of Sydney Harbour, I became a 'vicarious painter'. 'If only' became my theme for years ... a busy career and a lack of confidence overrode my strong desire to paint.

It wasn't until 2007 that my first paintings were completed, attempting to catch (among other things) something of the beauty of the Harbour, both natural and man-made.

As I have progressed, the task has become paradoxically more demanding - searching for the elusive drama of form and colour within a somewhat realistic framework, not just with harbour scenes but more far-flung landscapes including the inspirational scenery near Swifts Creek and Omeo!

Ten years later, teachable and unaware of directions ahead, the quest continues.
